Joe Wilen is a native Atlantan who operated a highly successful manufacturing business in Atlanta which he sold to Katy Industries, a NYSE company, in the late 1990s. Over the past 30 years Joe has also been involved in the Atlanta real-estate business. His focus has been on assembling parcels in Midtown and Buckhead where many of the prestigious buildings occupy the ground he and his partners assembled. Also during this time, he developed over 1.3 million square feet of industrial buildings for corporate use. Since that divestiture, Mr. Wilen has participated in over $100 million of real estate investments including ten transactions with Mr. Day. He is also an passive investor in many other real-estate partnerships and business investments. Mr. Wilen is a partner in Day Capital and is actively involved in the management of the company alongside Mr. Day and together they intend to continue to grow the operating platform of Day Capital Partners by focusing on opportunistic real-estate investments where they can build value for their partners and themselves.
