Plain old 1447 Peachtree Street is about to become the "stylish, cool and decidedly contemporary" Silhouette Midtown - an office building that will look like no other in the city.
When finished in May, with it's $5 million makeover, the exterior design will feature nine-story silhouetted images of people, meant to evoke the personalities of Midtown's habitués.
Other enhancements include new HVAC and window systems.
The repositioning of the 116,000 square-foot building is the idea of Atlanta-based Day Capital Partners, LLC, which bought the property last September. At the time of the acquisition, 1447 Peachtree (home to the Museum of Contemporary Art), was 50 percent empty, and Day Capital bought it with the intention of transforming it into a modern, boutique office building.
Day Capital has hired real estate firm Rees Associates, Inc. to execute the renovation.
Leigh O'Reilly of Lincoln Property will handle leasing. About 67,000 square feet of space is available.
